2008-2010 ARMADA AND TITAN; POPPING OR CLUNKING NOISE FROM FRONT SUSPENSION

 

APPLIED VEHICLES: 2008-2010 Armada (TA60)
  2008-2010 Titan (A60)

 

IF YOU CONFIRM

Using chassis ears, a popping or clunking noise can be heard coming from the front suspension shock assembly of an Applied Vehicle when driving over a pot hole or speed bump at approximately 10MPH.

AND

The front suspension bolts are torqued to specification.

 

ACTIONS

  1. Replace the front coil spring on both sides (RH & LH) with the part listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
  2. Check/set the front alignment.
  3. Perform aiming adjustment for the headlamp and front fog lamp (if equipped).

CLAIMS INFORMATION

Submit a Primary Part (PP) type line claim using the following claims coding:

Repair popping or clunking noise (1) MX13AA ZL 32 2.2

 

(1) Refer to the electronic parts catalog (FAST or equivalent) and use the Front Shock Absorber part number as the primary failed part.

 

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Replace the front coil spring on both sides (RH & LH) with the part listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
  • Refer to the FSU section of the applicable Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for removal and installation instructions.

NOTE: The front ride height will be around 1 inch lower after replacement.

  1. Use an alignment rack to check/set the front alignment.
  • Refer to the FSU section of the applicable ESM for alignment instructions.
  1. Perform aiming adjustment for the headlamp and front fog lamp (if equipped).
  • Refer to the EXL section of the applicable ESM for adjustment instructions.
