Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan
) is recalling certain air bag inflator replacement service parts that may have been installed as part of a theft or collision repair. The parts include certain passenger-side air bag inflators designed to fit Infiniti
2002-2003 QX4, 2006-2010 M35 and M45; Nissan
2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, and both driver and passenger-side inflators designed to fit 2007-2012 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback vehicles. Please see Nissan
’s recall report for the specific part numbers. These replacement inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the inflators as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 14, 2022. Owners may contact Nissan’s customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

INFINITI is committed to the safety and security of our clients and their passengers. INFINITI
has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it is recalling certain airbag inflator service parts that may have been installed in vehicles after the final recall remedy had been completed, as part of a subsequent theft or collision repair. The parts include certain Takata non-desiccated inflators for front passenger airbags, designed to fit 2002-2003 Infiniti
QX4 and 20062010 INFINITI
M35/M45.
Inflators that were previously recalled may have been inadvertently shipped to service inventory between December 9, 2016 and November 12, 2021 and may have been installed on vehicles as service parts. These inflators may rupture during a deployment due to propellant degradation occurring after long term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature cycling. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants.
Clients will receive an owner letter that will invite the owner to bring their vehicle to a retailer for inspection. If the vehicle is found to have a recalled air bag module, it will be replaced with a final remedy part. The remedy will be performed for the client free of charge for parts and labor.

Due to an issue in the parts replenishment system, inflators that were previously recalled may have been inadvertently shipped and installed on vehicles as service parts. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants.
What is the possible effect of the condition?
If this condition occurs, it may increase the risk of injury to the front passenger-side occupant in the event of a crash, where air bag deployment is warranted.
What will be the corrective action?
Retailers will inspect potentially affected vehicles that may have been repaired with the affected parts. If it is found that a recalled part is installed, it will be replaced with a final remedy part.
How long will the corrective action take?
This service, which is conducted at no charge to you for parts and labor, could range from approximately one (1) hour to (3) hours to complete depending on the vehicle model. However, your INFINITI retailer may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule.
Does this stop sale apply to previously owned vehicles?
INFINITI strongly recommends retailers not sell previously owned vehicles affected by these recalls until remedied. Certain states have laws preventing the sale of previously owned vehicles with open safety recalls. Retailers must comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding vehicle sales as they relate to open safety recalls.
These vehicles have already had parts replaced under a previous recall do they need to be remedied again?
Yes. Although the vehicle has already been into the retailer to have the passenger airbag replaced under a previous recall, inflators that were previously recalled may have been inadvertently shipped to service inventory between December 9, 2016 and November 12, 2021 and may have been installed on vehicles as service parts. These inflators may rupture during a deployment due to propellant degradation occurring after long term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature cycling. If your vehicle is subject to this campaign, you will receive an Owner Notification letter from INFINITI. INFINITI strongly urges clients to have this safety recall remedy performed as soon as possible. Please contact your retailer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. In the meantime, do not allow passengers to ride in the front passenger seat until a remedy is performed.

Description of the Defect:
Takata has determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety may arise in some of the subject ammonium nitrate passenger airbag inflators due to propellant degradation occurring after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures and high temperature cycling. Activation of a non-desiccated ammonium nitrate inflator with degraded propellant may result in an inflator rupture.
Additionally, some of the driver airbag inflators show a pattern of propellant density reduction over time that may predict a future risk of inflator rupture. The potential for such ruptures may occur in some of the subject inflators after several years of exposure to persistent conditions of high absolute humidity.
An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants.

Description of Corrective Action:
Nissan will notify all owners of affected vehicles by September 14, 2022. Dealers were notified on August 16, 2022. Owners of potentially affected vehicles that may have been repaired with the affected parts will be asked to bring their vehicle to an authorized Nissan
dealer or Infiniti
retailer to have their vehicle inspected. If a recalled part is installed, it will be replaced with a final remedy part, at no cost to owners for parts or labor.
Additional dealers, distributors, or collision shops that purchased the affected parts will be notified beginning in August 2022. Replacement parts will be provided to purchasers free of charge.
Your office will be provided with the final Part 577 owner notification. Nissan will include a statement in the Part 577 owner notification concerning reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy.

Description of the Defect: Takata has determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety may arise in some of the subject ammonium nitrate passenger airbag inflators due to propellant degradation occurring after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures and high temperature cycling. Activation of a non-desiccated ammonium nitrate inflator with degraded propellant may result in an inflator rupture. Additionally, some of the driver airbag inflators show a pattern of propellant density reduction over time that may predict a future risk of inflator rupture. The potential for such ruptures may occur in some of the subject inflators after several years of exposure to persistent conditions of high absolute humidity. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants.

Nissan will notify all owners of affected vehicles by September 14, 2022. Dealers were notified on August 16, 2022. Owners of potentially affected vehicles that may have been repaired with the affected parts will be asked to bring their vehicle to an authorized Nissan dealer or Infiniti retailer to have their vehicle inspected. If a recalled part is installed, it will be replaced with a final remedy part, at no cost to owners for parts or labor. Additional dealers, distributors, or collision shops that purchased the affected parts will be notified beginning in August 2022. Replacement parts will be provided to purchasers free of charge. Your office will be provided with the final Part 577 owner notification. November 16, 2022 Dear Proterra Powered Battery Pack Owner: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This notice applies to certain battery packs, model S1-15, part # 129-6202, 139-6181, 163-3642. What is the reason for this notice? Proterra has decided that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain battery packs, where the joint connecting the voltage sense foil harness and the PCB adapter board lacks sufficient solder, resulting in a potentially weakened joint. A weakened joint may create an intermittent connectivity issue that causes the battery management system (“BMS”) to detect an erroneous voltage measurement which would lead to the BMS terminating power in order to isolate the battery pack from the remainder of the high voltage system on the vehicle. On a single-string battery pack application, the vehicle would experience the loss of propulsion if the BMS terminates power. Why is your equipment being recalled? Affected battery packs that are used in a single-string application are being recalled because the loss of propulsion could increase the risk of a crash without prior warning. Proterra will provide a repair of the components at no cost to you. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are committed to your safety, the safety of your customers, and your continued satisfaction with our
products, and we request that you remedy your bus(es) promptly. IMPORTANT • Your Proterra batteries are subject to NHTSA Safety Recall No. 22E-065 because a vehicle equipped with a defective battery may experience a loss of propulsion if the BMS terminates power due to a weakened joint in the voltage sense foil harness.

YES ***** Campaign Summary ***** INFINITI is committed to the safety and security of our clients and their passengers. INFINITI has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it is recalling certain airbag inflator service parts that may have been installed in vehicles after the final recall remedy had been completed, as part of a subsequent theft or collision repair. The parts include certain Takata non- desiccated inflators for front passenger airbags, designed to fit 2002-2003 Infiniti QX4 and 2006- 2010 INFINITI M35/M45. Inflators that were previously recalled may have been inadvertently shipped to service inventory between December 9, 2016 and November 12, 2021 and may have been installed on vehicles as service parts. These inflators may rupture during a deployment due to propellant degradation occurring after long term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature cycling. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. Clients will receive an owner letter that will invite the owner to bring their vehicle to a retailer for inspection. If the vehicle is found to have a recalled air bag module, it will be replaced with a final remedy part. The remedy will be performed for the client free of charge for parts and labor. ***** What Retailers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Campaign I.D. PC907, PC908, PC909. 2. Retailers must not wholesale, sell, lease, trade, rent or loan any vehicles in retailer inventory affected by this recall campaign until after the vehicle has been inspected and, if necessary, repaired. 3. Retailers should use the appropriate campaign repair bulletins (listed in the repair section
below) to remedy any vehicles subject to this campaign. 4. Retailers should have the client fill out the SRS Light Release form (attached) when both the Supplemental Restraint System (“SRS”) warning light is non-operational, flashing, or illuminated and the client refuses diagnosis and repair related to the SRS warning light.
• Additionally, if the client declines the recall repair or the vehicle is unrepairable, appropriately document the deferment reason as per IPSB19-362. NOTE: There is no need for the client to fill out the attached SRS Light Release form if the client agrees and the retailer conducts the diagnosis and repair. 5. Due to an issue in the parts replenishment system, inflators that were previously recalled may have been inadvertently shipped and installed on vehicles as service parts. A If this condition occurs, it may increase the risk of injury to the front passenger-side occupant in the event of a crash, where air bag deployment is warranted. Q. What will be the corrective action? A. Retailers will inspect potentially affected vehicles that may have been repaired with the affected parts. If it is found that a recalled part is installed, it will be replaced with a final remedy part. Q. How long will the corrective action take? A. This service, which is conducted at no charge to you for parts and labor, could range from approximately one (1) hour to (3) hours to complete depending on the vehicle model. However, your INFINITI retailer may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule. Q: Does this stop sale apply to previously owned vehicles? A. INFINITI strongly recommends retailers not sell previously owned vehicles affected by these recalls until remedied. Certain states have laws preventing the sale of previously owned vehicles with open safety recalls. Retailers must comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding vehicle sales as they relate to open safety recalls. Q. These vehicles have already had parts replaced under a previous recall do they need to be remedied again? A. Yes. Although the vehicle has already been into the retailer to have the passenger airbag replaced under a previous recall, inflators that were previously recalled may have been inadvertently shipped to service inventory between December 9, 2016 and November 12,

Description of the Defect : Takata has determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety may arise in some of the subject ammonium nitrate passenger airbag inflators due to propellant degradation occurring after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures and high temperature cycling. Activation of a non-desiccated ammonium nitrate inflator with degraded propellant may result in an inflator rupture. Additionally, some of the driver airbag inflators show a pattern of propellant density reduction over time that may predict a future risk of inflator rupture. The potential for such ruptures may occur in some of the subject inflators after several years of exposure to persistent conditions of high absolute humidity.

Process. RECIPIENTS: All INFINITI Retailers (Dealer Principals, Executive Managers, Sales Managers, Service Directors/Managers, Sales Consultants, and Service Consultants).

• Service Department SUMMARY:
Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) is providing INSTRUCTIONS relating to the sales and service of new and used Nissan and INFINITI vehicles with open recall and service campaigns. Federal law prohibits the sale and/or delivery of new motor vehicles with open safety or emissions recalls. Certain State laws also prohibit or restrict the sale of used vehicles with open recalls or impose disclosure requirements. NNA strongly discourages the sale of used vehicles with an open recall. Due to the variance in state laws, Dealers should consult their legal counsel before selling used vehicles with open recalls. As a reminder, used vehicles with open campaigns cannot be certified under NNA’s Certified Pre- Owned (CPO) program. As provided in Section 5(B)(3) of the Nissan Dealer Sales and Service Agreement, “once Dealer has been notified that a recall or service campaign affects a particular class or type of Nissan Product, Dealer shall perform such campaign inspection(s) and/or corrections on all affected Nissan Products then in or which thereafter come into Dealer’s inventory or which are delivered for service…Dealer shall advise [NNA] as and when such campaign inspections and/or corrections are performed, in accordance with [NNA] Manuals or Instructions.” In accordance with the above, NNA provides the following on the service of Nissan/INFINITI vehicles with open campaigns: 1. When a Nissan or INFINITI vehicle is presented for service at a same brand store, the Dealer will check the VIN for any outstanding campaigns using Service Comm or National Service History Open Campaigns, inform the customer of any open recalls or service campaigns, and “promptly, courteously and efficiently perform such inspections and/or corrections.” 2. If the recall or service campaign cannot be completed during the aforementioned service visit, the Dealer will appropriately document the deferment reason, obtain a customer signature acknowledging the recall or service campaign deferment, and transmit the data to NNA as well as retain a copy for their own records. • Acceptable deferment reasons are:

Please Include Repair Order and applicable photos to support vehicle change request This document is intended to provide INSTRUCTIONS to Nissan and INFINITI Retailers with respect to the sale and service of Nissan and INFINITI vehicles with open recalls, and service campaigns, or quality actions pursuant to Section 5(B)(3) of the Nissan Dealer Sales and Service Agreement. These INSTRUCTIONS do not alter the terms of the Dealer Sales and Service Agreement in any way. IMPORTANT: “RO” MUST THOROUGHLY EXPLAIN FINDINGS AND REASON WHY UNABLE TO REPAIR PICTURES ARE RECOMMENDED – SELECT REASON BELOW
If the recall or service campaign cannot be completed during the service visit, the retailer must document the deferment reason, obtain a client’s signature acknowledging the recall or service campaign deferment on this form and return to INFINITI.
