used to produce a limited number of driver’s powered seats for certain MY 2023
Rogue, Pathfinder, and QX60 vehicles, manufactured during the specified time
period outlined above. No other Nissan or INFINITI vehicles are affected.

4. Percentage of Vehicles Estimated to Actually Contain the Defect:
Approximately 0.1%. 1% is used here because submission within NHTSA’s safety
portal will not allow a value less than 1%.
5. Description of the Defect:
The driver’s powered seat may not be fully secured to the seat frame on certain
Nissan Rogue, Pathfinder, and INFINTI QX60 vehicles. As a result of this issue, the
seat frame welds may detach from the rear inboard seat bracket. If this
condition occurs, it may increase the risk of injury to the occupant in the event of
a crash. In addition, the seat frame assembly may not meet certain FMVSS 207
and FMVSS 210 requirements because of this condition.
6. Chronology of Principal Events:
December 29, 2022 – Nissan received a report related to a MY 2023 Nissan Rogue
vehicle that alleged excess movement or play in the driver’s seat. Nissan
collected the suspect part and began an investigation.
January 2023 to February 2023 – A broken weld condition was found on the
driver’s seat frame between the rear inboard bracket and inboard seat rail.
Nissan and the supplier conducted a parts audit of 22,726 driver’s seat rails and
zero were reported with a poor weld quality concern. Further investigation
identified that the broken weld was related to a sub-supplier quality process
issue.
March 2023 – Review of the sub-supplier records determined three (3) rails that
had a rejected weld condition may not have been contained. Concurrently,
Nissan investigated the impact of the weld condition of the rear inboard seat rail
bracket. As part of the assessment, Nissan performed a sled pull test on the
worst case weld condition to evaluate driver’s seat performance in various
scenarios. Nissan concluded that the driver’s seat showed performance
degradation and may not meet certain regulatory requirements.
April 6, 2023 – Nissan decided to conduct a Voluntary Safety Recall to recall all
potentially affected vehicles to inspect the seat rails and replace any affected
seat cushion frame assemblies.
Nissan is not aware of any other warranty claims attributed to this condition.
7. Description of Corrective Action:
Dealers will be notified beginning April 14, 2023. Owners of all potentially affected
vehicles will be notified beginning June 10, 2023. Dealers will be instructed to
check the driver’s seat rail clearance to the inboard seat bracket, and if
necessary, the dealer will remove and replace the affected driver’s seat cushion
frame. All repairs will be performed free of charge for parts and labor and may
take less than two (2) hours to complete.
Nissan will not include a statement in the Part 577 owner notification concerning
reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy since the
subject vehicles are under warranty.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle
Safety Act. Nissan has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists
in certain Model Year 2023 Nissan Rogue vehicles. Our records indicate that you own or
lease the Nissan vehicle identified by the VIN on the inside of this notice.
Reason for Recall

Certain MY 2023 Nissan Rogue vehicles may have a driver’s powered seat that may not
be fully secured to the seat frame and the driver’s seat frame rail welds may detach
from the rear inboard seat bracket. If this condition occurs, it may increase the risk of
injury to the occupant in the event of a crash. In addition, in this condition, the seat
frame assembly may not meet certain requirements for Federal Motor Vehicle Safety
Standard No. 207 “Seating System” and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 210
“Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages”.
What Nissan Will Do

cushion frame. This service, which is conducted at no charge to you for parts and labor,
could take up to two (2) hours to complete. However, your Nissan dealer may require
your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule.

Nissan is committed to the safety and security of our clients and their passengers. Nissan has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it is recalling certain MY2023 Pathfinder and MY2023 Rogue vehicles to inspect the front driver’s seat, and if necessary replace the seat cushion frame.
On certain Nissan Pathfinder and Rogue vehicles, due to a supplier weld quality concern that has since been corrected, the driver’s seat frame rail welds may detach from the rear inboard seat bracket. As a result of this issue, the driver’s seat may not be fully secured to the seat frame potentially increasing the risk of injury to the occupant in the event of a crash.
***** What Dealers Should Do****
1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Recall Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Campaign I.D. PC966.
2. Dealers must not sell, lease, trade, rent or loan any vehicles in dealer inventory subject to this recall campaign until after the vehicle has been remedied.
3. Dealers should use NTB23-033 to remedy any vehicles subject to this campaign.
4. Once repaired, dealers should submit the claim using the claims coding provided, and release the vehicle.

As these parts are now included in this voluntary safety recall campaign, Nissan is requiring dealers to check their parts inventories for all of the part numbers listed in the table below. If a listed part is found in your parts inventory, do not sell this part, or install this part on any vehicle.
Nissan North America is requiring Dealers to return the listed parts no later than June 23, 2023 using the following instructions:
1. Create an I-Code RFC, an invoice# is not necessary
2. Be sure to use these specific comments: “PLEASE ACCEPT THIS RETURN AS PART OF THE NNA REQUIRED PART RETURN ACTION”.
3. Upon RFC acceptance notification, send parts back to your facing PDC

Nissan is committed to the safety and security of our clients and their passengers. Nissan has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it is recalling certain MY2023 Pathfinder and MY2023 Rogue vehicles to inspect the front driver’s seat, and if necessary replace the seat cushion frame.
On certain Nissan Pathfinder and Rogue vehicles, due to a supplier weld quality concern that has since been corrected, the driver’s seat frame rail welds may detach from the rear inboard seat bracket. As a result of this issue, the driver’s seat may not be fully secured to the seat frame potentially increasing the risk of injury to the occupant in the event of a crash.

• A “Service Parts Return” section has been added to this campaign dealer announcement. Nissan is requesting dealers to check their parts inventories for any of the part numbers listed in the table below under the “Service Parts Return” section. Nissan North America is requesting dealers to return these parts immediately using the instructions provided in this dealer announcement. If any of these parts are found in inventory, do not sell this part or install this part on any vehicle.

2. Dealers must not sell, lease, trade, rent or loan any vehicles in dealer inventory subject to this recall campaign until after the vehicle has been remedied.

Nissan North America is requesting Dealers to return the listed parts no later than June 23, 2023 using the following instructions:

A. This service, which is conducted at no charge to you for parts and labor, could take up to two (2) hours to complete. However, your Nissan dealer may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule.
Q. When will vehicle owners be notified?
A. Nissan will begin notifying owners of all potentially affected vehicles in June 2023 via U.S. Mail.
Q. Is my vehicle safe to drive?
A. If you notice excess movement in the driver’s seat, you should take it to your local dealer for diagnosis. If your vehicle is subject to this campaign, you will receive an Owner Notification letter from Nissan, which will provide instructions on how to remedy your vehicle. Affected owners are encouraged to have their vehicles remedied as soon as possible upon notification.
Q. Is there anything owners can do to mitigate this condition?
A. If you notice excess movement in the driver’s seat, you should take it to your local dealer for diagnosis. If your vehicle is subject to this campaign, Nissan recommends you contact your local Nissan dealer to have the front driver’s seat inspected, and if necessary replace the seat cushion frame.

December 29, 2022 – Nissan received a report related to a MY 2023 Nissan Rogue vehicle that alleged excess movement or play in the driver’s seat. Nissan collected the suspect part and began an investigation. January 2023 to February 2023 – A broken weld condition was found on the driver’s seat frame between the rear inboard bracket and inboard seat rail. Nissan and the supplier conducted a parts audit of 22,726 driver’s seat rails and zero were reported with a poor weld quality concern. Further investigation identified that the broken weld was related to a sub-supplier quality process issue. March 2023 – Review of the sub-supplier records determined three (3) rails that had a rejected weld condition may not have been contained. Concurrently, Nissan investigated the impact of the weld condition of the rear inboard seat rail bracket. As part of the assessment, Nissan performed a sled pull test on the worst case weld condition to evaluate driver’s seat performance in various scenarios. Nissan concluded that the driver’s seat showed performance degradation and may not meet certain regulatory requirements. April 6, 2023 – Nissan decided to conduct a Voluntary Safety Recall to recall all potentially affected vehicles to inspect the seat rails and replace any affected seat cushion frame assemblies. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Dealers will be instructed to check the driver’s seat rail clearance to the
inboard seat bracket, and if necessary, the dealer will remove and replace the affected driver’s seat cushion frame. All repairs will be performed free of charge for parts and labor and may take less than two (2) hours to complete.
Nissan will not include a statement in the Part 577 owner notification concerning reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy since the subject vehicles are under warranty.
