INTRODUCTION
Nissan
is conducting this voluntary safety recall campaign on certain specific model year 2019-2021 Altima and 2020-2021 Sentra vehicles to inspect the rear camera operation, and if necessary, replace the rear camera. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor.
IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Nissan has assigned identification number R23C3 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealer’s responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. YES NO 3/18 NTB23-070 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Clean the rear camera lens using a suitable soft cloth and glass cleaner. 2. Set the parking brake. 3. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF. 4. While depressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to Reverse and check that the camera image is NOT blurry, distorted or multi-colored. Does the rear camera image display normally? (NOT blurry, distorted or multi colored) YES: Rear camera image is displayed normally (NOT blurry, distorted or multi colored). For Altima, perform steps 5-20 on pages 4-12 to secure the rear camera wiring harness. For Sentra, perform steps 21-30 on pages 13-17 to secure the rear camera wiring harness. NO: The rear camera image does not display normally: Replace the rear camera.
